Mission Statement
Up seeks to inspire the student body to both dress and think creatively. At Up Magazine, we believe fashion is a an expression of oneself. Fashion offers an insight into the world of Miami: how we live, what we like, where we socialize, who we are, how we dress. Up captures this glimpse at Miami through artistic photography, creative fashion spreads, and intelligent articles.

Background
Up Magazine was founded at Miami University in the Fall of 2008, by Lauren Kelly and Kelly Phelan. The two shared a dream to create a magazine that would be intellectually and visually stimulating to its readers. A year and a half later, Lauren and Kelly and their energetic, creative staff of 60 full-time students have released three issues of Up Magazine. Proudly, all magazine content has been contributed by students, including, but not limited to, photography, fashion styling, modeling, layout design, and writing. With the help of campus advisers and assistance from friends in the fashion, printing and marketing world, Lauren, Kelly and their talented staff learned, from the ground up, how to transform their vision into a magazine that students and advertisers have praised.
